The Word Today

  • "See, you lowly ones, and be glad; you who seek God, may your hearts revive!  For the LORD hears the poor, and his own who are in bonds he spurns not."  Psalm 69:33-34

Message from the Provincial Superior

Philippine map with PDDM SistersGreeting you all with the joy of the Good News that Angel Gabriel announced to Mary!

Times do come in life when some things lie low and hibernate not because they lost their meaning and value but to have the needed time and space for renewing and reinventing. Such is the case of this site. It has been out of sight for a while but now it’s back, and this time, with a ‘new face.’

Paulines that we are, we can’t ignore and remain indifferent to the modern media without feeling the remorse of betraying our identity in some sense. Blessed James Alberione founded the Pauline Family to which we belong, to proclaim the truth of the Gospel and the values of the Kingdom using the modern communications media. Communication is not simply one dimension of evangelization, without communication there can be no evangelization.

For us PDDM, our way of evangelization is through beauty. In the face and the voice of the crucified and risen Lord we contemplate the Beauty that saves the world. We proclaim God’s unconditional love for humanity also through the way of beauty expressed in the rhythm of words and silence, music and actions, signs and symbols, unfolding in the reality of daily life and celebrated in the liturgy. Our discipleship is a journey of proclaiming God’s beauty, goodness and truth.

This site has been a very important venue for connection not only among us PDDM but also with others. This media has become a powerful and influential tool for communion. It helps build up and unite us as a community and as a people. As St Paul spells it out: Christian freedom is always freedom from isolation. Fullness of freedom is to be free for relationship with others in order to contribute to their own well being and sanctification.

What is more, this site is an important means for education and formation. It shapes the minds and the hearts, forming and transforming persons and society as it offers new possibilities for the communication of information, knowledge and learning.

This media therefore is a special gift to humanity and should be welcomed with a positive attitude. It is for this merit that I present this ‘new’ site with enthusiasm, gratitude and joy on the occasion of the Solemnity of the Lord’s Annunciation. Gabriel announces the coming of Grace today; we rejoice and bless the Lord for this ‘reinvented site’ – a grace for the province.

WELCOME and ENJOY!
