Provincial Superior's 2015 Circular n.8

August 11, 2015

Dearest Sisters,

Grace and peace to you all in the name of our Beloved Master and Savior Jesus Christ!

Before everything else, let me express my gratitude to all for the prayers and sacrifices offered during the recently concluded Formative Meeting of all the Local Animators and Bursars, together with the members of the Provincial Government. I trust that the sisters who participated will echo back to you the contents received and processes undergone in this annual meeting.

In this month of August, we have several motives for thanksgiving. First of these is the gift of three newly professed PDDM sisters in our Province come August 15, the Solemnity of our Lady’s Assumption. Let us indeed thank the Lord for Sr. M. Cherylsalve Cualquira, Sr. M. Emily Pitogo and Sr. M. Julieta Jose. We joyfully welcome them to our communities and assure them of our prayers and good witnessing to assist them in their formative journey. Their new assignments will be announced on the day of their profession.

As previously announced, on this same day, August 15, we are anticipating the launching the opening celebration of the 60th Foundation Anniversary of the PDDM Philippine-Taiwan-Hong Kong Province (1956-August 25-2016). This will be an opportune time to express our thanksgiving and praise to the Lord for guiding the PDDM Philippine foundation this past 59 years. He has enabled and empowered us to live out our charism and mission in ten different communities within the country. He has awakened as well our missionary zeal to reach out to the countries of Taiwan (three communities), Hong Kong (1 community), and welcome new vocations from immense China, as envisioned by our Founder, Blessed James Alberione. With our 12 missionary sisters in other missions abroad, we are also contributing to the apostolic commitment of the PDDM worldwide.

On this day of thanksgiving, we also express our gratitude to the other members of the Pauline Family especially to our APC-FDM members, the Adorers of the Divine Master (ADM), the PDDM Lay Mission Collaborators (PLMC), our benefactors, family members and friends who have assisted us and who continue to help us carry out the mission entrusted to our Congregation.

Secondly, we look forward to the celebration of the 101st Foundation Anniversary of the Society of St. Paul and the Pauline Family to be celebrated on August 20. In particular, let us accompany our SSP brothers of Philippines and Macau as they highlight this year’s event with the celebration of the Provincial Chapter, together with their Superior General, Don Valdir José de Castro. This will be held from August 24 – 28, 2015. We invoke the Holy Spirit upon the participants of this event as they evaluate their courses of action and discern and elect the members of the Provincial Government who will collaborate with Fr. Jose Aripio, Provincial Superior, in the governance of their Province.

Thirdly, we welcome in our midst Sr. M. Agar Coreno, our General Bursar, who will arrive in Manila on August 26, 2015. She will hold a brief evaluation session with the members of the Provincial Government, then proceed to Taiwan with me on August 28 to see and evaluate the ongoing constructions in the place. We would also like to express our gratitude to Sr. M. Regina Cesarato and the General Government for the assistance they are giving for the completion of our Convent and Apostolic Center in Xinzhuang, Taipei.

Finally, may I count on your prayers for two other urgent intentions: 1) the ongoing discernment and planning on the consolidated development plan of DMC- Antipolo as discussed during the formative meeting of superiors and bursars and 2) the scheduled formative session and joint retreat of our sisters of Taiwan and Hong Kong come September 6-16, 2015 in Macau. May all these be blessed by the Lord as our humble contribution to his call to “pour new wine into new wineskins.”

I thank you all and entrust each one’s needs to the loving intercession of Mary, assumed into heaven.

       Sr. M. Gemma Victorino
