Provincial Superior's Circular no. 3

Circular n. 3
March 21, 2017

Dearest Sisters,

May the purifying and all-embracing Love of the Father manifested in the Paschal mystery of his Son Jesus continue to accompany our journey towards Easter!

We have been intimately touched and visited anew by our Lord in the recent demise of our dear Sr. M. Lucia Rosales. She has edified us all in courageously bearing the pain and suffering that accompanied her in these 40 days or so of her immediate preparation to meet the Bridegroom in his Kingdom of light. I would like to take this occasion to thank everyone, including the close family circle of Sr. M. Lucia, for lovingly journeying with her and with us throughout this time of the Lord’s visitation.

In continuing the series of our Annual Retreat on the theme “Missionary Discipleship,” it is my hope and prayer that we may truly understand that speaking of mission does not only mean concentrating on the “works and ministries” that we do. Rather, it is firstly recognizing and following the Master who calls and sends us.  It entails adult commitment which graces us with “staying power” through thick and thin, believing that the one who calls and sends is the Lord. Hence it is first and foremost a response of faith and an act of love. It is secondly a witnessing: a way of “being-with and being-for” Christ the Master and the persons he calls us to serve. In these days of community visitation I see this beautifully expressed in the person of our sisters who generously and lovingly live out their calling through the apostolic relationships and ministries they faithfully carry out, notwithstanding the difficulties and challenges.

I shall be announcing in the next circular the movement of personnel; meanwhile we accompany each other with prayer that all maybe disposed to whatever will be asked of us, in obedience, for the good of the mission and our growth in discipleship.

I take the opportunity here to communicate the adjustments in our Calendar of Activities this year. Kindly note the following revisions:  Sector Heads Meeting is moved to June 12-14 with venue at PAC Manila; the Community Animators’ Meeting will be on July 3 – 5, followed by the Local Bursars’ Meeting on July 6 -7, to be held at Alberione Center.

We remember with joy our sisters celebrating their anniversary of profession this March 25, in particular our Golden Jubilarians Sr. M. Celine Santiago and Sr. M. Pauline Darnayla. We also accompany with our prayers our two sisters – Sr. Mylene Ballan and Sr. M. Janice Golez – who are preparing for perpetual profession on April 23, Divine Mercy Sunday, at the Most Holy Redeemer Parish, Q. C.

We continue our Lenten journey and dispose ourselves to the purification being done in us and among us, also in preparation for the celebration of the 9th General Chapter. May our crucified and victorious Lord continue to accompany us in the journey of sanctification and faithful discipleship.

Greeting you all, with affection, also in the name of the members of the Provincial Government,

                                                                                                        Sr. M. Gemma Victorino pddm
