Circular N.5

                                                                                           The Nativity of the Lord

Dearest Sisters,

And the Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us, and we saw his glory, the glory as of the Father’s only Son, full of grace and truth (Jn. 1:14).

Joyful greetings to all as we celebrate anew the coming of Jesus into our life, which leads us to contemplate on the tenderness of God’s presence dwelling among us in  simplicity and humility. He does not hesitate to come and be who we are and where we are in all of our humanity.  It is in this humble disposition that I invite you to count with much gratitude every grace God never ceases to bless us with.

Of the blessings we received  are the gift of religious vocations.  Let us join hearts in praying for  the coming of Alaine Jamoral, from Zamboanga who works  in Hongkong, who we hope to welcome on February 10, 2019 as a pre-postulant.

We thank the Lord abundantly for the gifts of Divine Providence, the presence of our Lay Mission Collaborators, the APC Friends of the Divine Master, all our friends and benefactors who continue to bless us with greater apostolic energy.

Stir up the gift of God is the theme of our 2019 Vocation Year of the Pauline Family.  This coincides with the CBCP Year of the Youth which has its slogan Filipino Youth in Mission: Beloved, Gifted, Empowered.  We are invited and encouraged to collaborate and participate in these special events as a way of our response to the 4th Call of the 9th General Chapter:  Go Out –Welcome – Accompany the Youth.  The General Chapter reminds us of our pastoral work for the youth and vocations which we are to prioritize with an attitude of gratuity, investing our human and economic resources, without expecting immediate results.

We welcome back in our midst Sr. M. Josephine Tanate who attended the Integration Course in Rome in preparation for perpetual profession.  She will  have her intensive preparation for her perpetual profession at DMC Antipolo after home visit.  Sr. M. Jiao will be in Rome preparing herself for perpetual profession this year and  for the coming Charism Course 2019-2020.  Sr. Yan Yun is set to leave for Rome on January 26, 2019  in order to join  other PDDM Temporary Professed sisters for the Integration Course 2019.  Other sisters of the Province scheduled for the Charism Course in Rome are Sr. Maria Luz Cabahug (2019-2020)  and Sr.M. Beatrice Israel (2020-2021).

Let us continue to support with our prayers the apostolic and missionary journey of our General Government, prayerfully remembering  their year end meeting after Christmas.

We press onwards as “living and working members of the Church” here in our Province and in our PDDM communities the world over, faithful and committed to our Pauline vocation and mission.  As we sing our MAGNIFICAT for the “superabundant richness of grace” bestowed upon the Congregation  this year 2018, we look forward to  ‘newer wines’ with great hopes and more blessings for the Year 2019.

As we speak of “new wine” in a “new wineskin” (9th GC) I ask you to pray with me for a planned 2019 Ongoing Formation Itinerary in the communities of the Province.  We all believe and remember that a joyful and committed life of communion in the community is the greatest witness to attract vocations, as we were once taught by our formators and superiors.

May our Savior’s gift of peace, love and mercy be always with us, our beloved families and friends,  and the persons whom our Divine Master entrust to our care.

Blessings of the Newborn Son in the manger, with affection,

 Sr. M. ANTHONY S. BASA
