Sisters' Day Celebration 2017
The PDDM communities in Luzon area and sisters from Cebu and Iligan Community celebrated their common name day in honor of Mary last September 10, 2017, 23rd Sunday in Ordinary Time, at the Scholastica Building, Divine Master Convent, Antipolo City, hosted and organized by the Juniors and their formator, Sr. M. Bernadette.
For this year, the celebration which is commonly known as the Sisters’ Day bears the theme “Mary, Queen and Mother of all Creation”. This is in connection with the call of the Holy Father Pope Francis: respect, care and preserve our common home. This is to be one with the whole Church in celebrating the Season of Creation (Sept. 1-Oct. 4, 2017). In line with, the Sisters were having a tree planting activity inside the compound of the convent. They happily planted Indian and Bamboo trees.
The day was laden with joy and fellowship as the sisters from the different communities gathered together and participated in the games and other surprising activities. It started with the celebration of the Morning Prayer in Divine Master Chapel.
In her closing remarks, Sr. M. Gemma, the Provincial Superior took the opportunity to thank the sisters and to ask for special prayers for some particular intentions especially for the on-going initiatives of the whole congregation and the province. She asked the sisters to continue accept the challenge of pursuing justice, peace and integrity of creation and act on it.
Finally, the program culminated with a solemn Vespers and an agape.
