PLMC Foundation Anniversary

The PDDM Lay Mission Collaborators (PLMC) in the Philippines celebrated its 19th foundation anniversary simultaneously in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao last August 30, 2018.

In Luzon, the collaborators from PAC-Manila, AC-Quezon City and DMC-Antipolo gathered at Mother Scholastica building in DMC-Antipolo. The Holy Eucharist was presided by Fr. Guido Everaert, CICM. After the Holy Mass, they listened to the talk of Sr. M. Anthony which emphasized the theme “Si Jesus ang aking Gurong Banal bilang PLMC”. In a participative talk, Sr. M. Anthony encouraged them to share their gifts and talents as well as the challenges they face in fulfilling their mission as PLMC. After lunch, the event featured a showcase of talents—drama, dancing, singing and poetry. Gifts and prizes were also given to them and indeed, it was a day filled with joy and fellowship.

In Cebu, the celebration opened with the talk given by Mr. Jun and Mrs. Irene Bande about the care of the environment at the DMC conference hall. They taught the PLMC on how to properly dispose garbage at home and at workplaces. It was followed by games, interesting presentations, raffle draw and gift giving. In the afternoon, they gathered in the chapel for the celebration of the Holy Eucharist which was presided by Fr. Wesley Noel. The celebration which gave joy to all was made possible through the collaborative preparation done by the PDDM sisters and some of their generous friends.

In Davao, a simple gathering at DMC conference hall started with a talk shared by Sr. M. Eunice Montera on the joy of following Jesus Master and in doing the mission entrusted to our PLMC. Sharing of reflections and insights followed. The PLMC were also blessed to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation before the celebration of the Holy Eucharist which was presided by Fr. Albert Bernal, SSP. The gathering concluded with a sharing of meal together with the sisters.
