Solemnity of Jesus Divine Master 2018
The different communities of the Disciples of the Divine Master celebrated the Solemnity of Jesus Divine Master together with the whole Pauline Family on October 28, 2018. A 9-day novena Masses held in preparation for this great feast moved us to meditate on the theme: “I CONSECRATE MYSELF FOR THEM, SO THAT THEY MAY BE CONSECRATED IN TRUTH.” (Jn. 17:19)
Divine Master Convent Antipolo
In Antipolo, the Eucharistic celebration was presided by Rev. Fr. Paul Marquez, SSP who in his homily emphasized that the consecration of Jesus Master is the ultimate example of consecration for all of us. Jesus’ entire life was consecrated to the Father and that made him offer with great generosity and loving sacrifice. One of the gifts received on this occasion is the promised made by Maria Carmen Anson as member of the Association of Pauline Cooperators-Friends of the Divine Master.
After the celebration of the Holy Mass, the assembly was invited to join with the sisters in a simple agape while the children and some adults also enjoyed the cotton candy and popcorn served at the garden. Indeed, the celebration becomes a family celebration not only because of the presence of the members of the Pauline family but also because the presence of friends and newly found friendships.
The celebration of Jesus Master Sunday in Taiwan was preceded by a Triduum adoration celebrated with the community and the Eucharistic Adoration used the prayer scheme shared by Sr. M. Margaret Tapang, PDDM. The Eucharistic celebration was held at Heng Yee High School chapel in Xinzhuang District, New Taipei City. We are grateful to the Congregatio Discipulorum Domini (CDD) who availed for us the chapel. Rev. Fr. Dennis Manzana, SVD and five concelebrating priests celebrated the mass with Filipino and Chinese communities. Fr. Dennis generously delivered his homily both in Chinese and English. It was a celebration of communion for all of us especially that those who joined came from different churches/parishes and congregations. It was also an opportunity for us to share our spirituality and devotion for Jesus, the Divine Master. We are grateful to CDD sisters who helped us in singing and so with those who helped for the preparation of food during agape.
