Echoing Mary's "Fiat"

The Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord—March 25, 2022 was highlighted by the celebration of the 60th Anniversary of Religious Profession of Vows of Sr. M. Rosa Sorra and Sr. M. Rosalba Tabag.

The sisters from the different communities in Luzon gathered to celebrate with the two Jubilarians at Divine Master Convent in Antipolo. The Mass presided by Rev. Fr. Gil Alinsangan, SSP and concelebrated by Rev. Fr. Jose Aripio happened at 10 o’clock in the morning. The other concelebrating priests were Rev. Fr. Khris Emmanuel Llacer, Rev. Fr. Noel Magbanua and Rev. Fr. Pete Barisoro of the Society of St. Paul, and Rev. Fr. Rocky Sibayan and Rev. Fr. Luke Ong of the Alagad ni Maria.

Sr. M. Rosa and Sr. M. Rosalba echoed their thanksgiving to God together with Mary, who with her fiat has inspired them to faithfully live and bear fruit in their religious vocation amidst struggles.

In his homily, Fr. Alinsangan affirmed the fruitfulness of their service based on his personal experiences with each of them. In particular, he quoted Psalm 92 to describe how these sisters who even in their old age are still full of sap, green and bearing fruit.

To prepare for this celebration, Sr. M. Rosa and Sr. M. Rosalba had a blessed moment of walking on the memory lane of their vocation stories last March 17-21 with Sr. M. Anthony Basa as their guide. Their formative sessions, vocation-mission storytelling and recreation were indeed experiences of God’s affirmation of the beauty of their call.

We thank Jesus Master for his unceasing graces which sustain his every disciple. Truly, Sr. M. Rosa and Sr. M. Rosalba are proofs of this goodness.
